In 2009, Mamata Banerjee turned out to be Railway Minister for the second time. Subsequent to becoming Railway Minister for the second time, Mamata Banerjee acknowledged many novel schemes in the Railway Budget 2009. She wished-for opening seven Nursing Colleges on Railway property. She as well introduced several new concepts of Trains like Duranta, Yuva in the Railway Budget. At the moment Duranta is the fastest train in India. To alleviate women passengers for the period of busy hours, Mamata introduced Ladies Special Train on July linking Bandel and Howrah. Mamata Banerjee inaugurated the Duronto Express, a non-stop train, fastest train of India amid Sealdah and New Delhi on September 18th 2009. Super fast Duronto Express Train between Chennai and New Delhi was initiated on September 21st. She in addition took steps to stretch railway in terror hit sections of Kashmir. Anantnag Qadigund Railway line was launched in October.
